Obituary for Ora J. Schipper
ORA J. SCHIPPER, 85, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL died Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the nursing home. Ora was born on April 20, 1923 in Miles, IA to Jacob and Ethel (Ham) Schipper. He attended the rural Whiteside County Grade Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Loretta M. Fredericks on October 13, 1942 in Morrison, IL. Following his military service, Ora engaged in farming in the rural Morrison and Erie, IL area. Most recently he was employed as a custodian for Morrison High School. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison, IL and the Morrison American Legion Post #328. A memorial has been established to Resthave Nursing Home. Survivors include his wife, Loretta; three daughters, Linda (Mrs. Michael) McDivitt of Morrison, IL, Susan (Richard Holmes) Hellickson of Newton, IA, Rona (Mrs. Mark) Pfister of Morrison, IL; two sons, Ora John (Carol) Schipper of Morrison, IL, Terry Schipper of Carson City, NV; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Eloise May Dick of Clinton, IA, Mrs. Delores Bilaki of St. Paul, MN; three brothers, Robert (Leona) Schipper of Davenport, IA, Ronald Schipper of Clinton, IA, Donald Schipper of Davenport, IA. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Shawn L. Schipper; three brothers, Elmer, Tom and Marvin Schipper.
