Obituary for N. George Benson
N. GEORGE BENSON, 87, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, March 01, 2017 at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison.George was born January 20, 1930, in Sterling, IL, to Nels and Nellie Maria (Mattson) Benson. He was educated in the McAllister grade school of rural Whiteside County and was a 1948 graduate of Morrison High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. George farmed his entire life in the rural Morrison area. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison and a member of the Morrison VFW Post #8281. George enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor.Survivors include one niece, Mary Kay (LeRoy) Wright of Morrison, IL; two nephews, Eric (Mary) Benson and Steve (Lori) Benson both of Morrison, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mildred Benson, one brother, Herbert Benson; one nephew, Keith Benson; one great niece, Ashton Wright.
