Obituary for Michele L. Ashpole
DR. MICHELE LEE ASHPOLE, 60, of Tucson, AZ, passed away at her home on March 11, 2023 after an extended illness. Cremation rites have been accorded. She will be honored at a Memorial Mass at 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Prophetstown, IL.
Michelle was born September 3, 1962, in Sterling, IL to Gene and Betty Ashpole. She graduated from Prophetstown High School and then from Drake University in Des Moines, IA with a Bio-Chem Degree. She went on to get a Medical Technology Degree at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She moved to Arizona where she worked, and later attended the University of Arizona and received a Pharmacy Degree. She married George Sien on March 15, 1989 in Tucson, AZ. She enjoyed working at the VA Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist.
Michele loved working in her yard and was proud of becoming a certified Master Gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Leo, and her nieces and nephews. She also loved entertaining family and friends; you never left her home hungry. Michele was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a beautiful smile and a big heart that made you warm inside.
She leaves behind her husband, George; children Nicole (Zach), Grant, and Paige (Michael); grandson, Leo; her parents, Gene and Betty Ashpole; sisters Laura, Kim and Bridget; brothers Todd and Troy; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Helen Burke, Charles and Mary Ashpole.
