Obituary for Michael R. Cady
MICHAEL R. CADY, 86, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, August 5, 2024, at Hope Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in East Moline.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 12,2024, at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Fulton, IL, with Mr. Ken Renkes officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mike was born December 17, 1937, in Morrison, IL, to George and Sue (VanDyke) Cady. He was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. On November 21, 1959, he married Elizabeth Liddell in Clinton, IA, and they shared their lives together for over 49 years until Elizabeth’s passing on March 22, 2009. Mike dedicated several decades to and retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling, IL. Not one to remain idle, he took on a new role with RC Smith Transportation following his retirement. Mike was an avid golfer who loved the outdoors, watching wildlife, and boating.
Survivors include one daughter, Kim (Walt) Prisk of Moline, IL; one son, Vincent Cady of Fulton, IL; two grandchildren, Anthony Cady and Emmah Cady; one sister, Carol (Gary) Ralston of Fulton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth; two sisters, Marilyn Schroeder and Linda Richards.
