Obituary for Michael A. Winandy
MICHAEL A. WINANDY, 75, of 707 Keith Drive, Morrison, IL, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at his home. Michael was born March 22, 1932, in Chicago, IL, to Peter H. and Rose (Palm) Winandy. He was educated in the Coonley Grade School and graduated from Lane Tech High School, both in Chicago. He attended both Wright and Lakeview Colleges in Chicago. He married Barbara A. Berger on February 27, 1984 in Kauai, HI. Michael was a general contractor and built greenhouses in the Chicago area for the family business, Peter H. Winandy & Sons, Inc. In 1991, he and his wife Barbara started, owned and operated the Hillendale Bed and Breakfast in Morrison, until his retirement two years ago. He was an avid world traveler and delighted in exploring remote locations. He was a member of St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Morrison. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. Alan) Fuller of Morrison, IL, Pamela Winandy of Glenview, IL; two sons, Michael (Sarah) Winandy II of Maple, WI, David (Carol) Winandy of Kenmore, WA; seven grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Winandy, Joshua Gunderlock, Leah Winandy, Danielle Winandy, Michael Winandy III, Bryan Fuller, Curtis Fuller; five step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; one sister, Rose Marie (Mrs. Daniel) Spychala of Mt. Prospect, IL. He was preceded in death by one son, Curt Winandy; three sisters, Dolores Campbell, Mary Pearson, Laverne Amann; one brother, Peter H. Winandy II.
