Obituary for Meno J. Bush
MENO J. BUSH, 87, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the nursing home. Meno was born November 10, 1918 in Garden Plain, IL to John M. and Gertrude (Hook) Bush. He was educated in the Garden Plain School and the Robertson School in Ustick Township. He married Lois D. Norman on April 2, 1946 in Erie, IL. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Prior to the Army he worked as a farm hand and then at Collis Co. in Clinton, IA. He then worked for the Iron Workers Local #111 in Rock Island, IL. He was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton, IL and had served as an elder, a deacon, a Sunday school teacher and the Sunday school treasurer for 38 years. He also ran the church"s sound system and radio broadcast. He was a Hamm radio operator and held a certificate in Practical Electronic Radio and Television. He enjoyed reading, working on radios, TV"s and automobiles. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce (Mrs. Butch) Wilkins of Fulton, IL; one son, Roger (Beverly) Bush of Orland Park, IL; four grandchildren, Thomas Wilkins, Jana (Darin) Johnson, Sara (Tony) Acri and Nora Bush; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Fredrickson and Mrs. Jeanette House, both of Moline, IL; Dorothy (Mrs. Jim) Hallenbeck of Cocoa Beach, FL; two brothers, Roland (Norma) Bush of Thomson, IL and George (Bud) Bush of Fremont, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois.
