Obituary for Maxine L. Wheeler
MAXINE L. WHEELER, 87, of 10116 Union Grove Road, Morrison, IL, died Monday, November 27, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA. Maxine was born June 16, 1919 in Morrison, IL, to Newel C. and Alice (Booth) Miller. She married Harrison H. Wheeler on September 16, 1940 in Iowa City, IA. He died October 22, 1998. Maxine taught in several schools for 30 years (including 4 years in music). She had written four books plus songs for children and a jazz book for adults. She entertained the public for 30 years and gave programs on jazz highlights. She has played at the Mark of the Quad Cities for Heritage Progress Show and played background music for a style show on Paula Sands TV. Maxine also wrote a love song and recorded it and dedicated it to her married grandchildren. She was a member of Sigma Alph Iota, a Women"s Professional Music Organization. Maxine loved nature and working outdoors and had taken several groups through Wheeler Park. Survivors include one daughter, SanDee Fawcett of CA; one son, Roger (Diane) Wheeler of Clinton, IA; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harrison; and one sister, Marge Carpenter.

FUNERAL SERVICE Family Memorial Service is to be held at a later date. VISITATION There will be no visitation - the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements CREMATION RITES HAVE BEEN ACCORDED
