Obituary for Mary H. Spangler
MARY H. SPANGLER, 90, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Monday, September 17, 2007, at the nursing home. Mary was born April 20, 1917 in Kansas City, KS to John B. and Susie L. (VanDoren) Harridge. She married Harold L. Spangler on June 11, 1941 in Fenton, IL. He died May 25, 2001. She farmed with her late husband in the rural Whiteside County area. She had also been employed by the former Volckmann"s Furniture Factory and Baar"s Potato Farm both of Morrison, IL. She was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilt making and spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly (Mrs. Larry) Jensen of Morrison, IL and Linda (Mrs. Jim) Blunt of Vancouver, WA; a daughter-in-law, Penny Spangler of Morrison, IL; five grandchildren, Donna Rus, Chris Jensen, Britt (Betty) Spangler, Todd Spangler, and Stacey Moret; eight great grandchildren, Megan Gorzny, Shelby Rus, Jennifer, Justin, and Jessica Jensen, Rachael, Samuel, and Ian Spangler; one step great grandchild, Cory Brown; one sister, Frances (Mrs. Harvey) Frederick of Clinton, IA; two brothers, John (Betty) Harridge and Clarence (Carol) Harridge both of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; a son, Ray Spangler; four sisters, Ruby Grady, Dorothy Schaver, Alice Leahy, and Kathryn Roete; and one brother, Paul Harridge.
