Obituary for Mary H. Jensen
MARY HARRIET JENSEN, 97, of Sterling, IL, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at C.G.H. Medical Center in Sterling.Mary was born October 3, 1919 in Albany, IL, to Fred A. and Retta M. (Wilsonholm) Snyder. She was educated in the Albany Grade School and was a 1937 graduate of Morrison High School. On December 20, 1941 she was united in marriage to Laurence E. Jensen in Kahoka, MO. He died September 30, 1987. Mary was employed by the former Richs Toy Factory in Clinton, IA; Wahl Clipper in Sterling; Franz Manufacturing in Sterling and the White Pines Tea Room in Albany. She was a former member of the Albany United Methodist Church and a current member of the Morrison United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Lee County Home Bureau.Survivors include one daughter, Rita (James) Helms of Sterling; two sons, Lauren Jensen of Sterling, and Lyle Jensen of Rock Falls, IL; three grandchildren, Lezley (Austin) Mount, Ryan Lee (Emily) Helms and Adrianne Rose; eight great grandchildren, Alec, Lane, Luke, Anna, Lily and Arlo Mount; Oliver Helms and McKinse Peters.She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence; one son, Edwin Lee, in infancy; three sisters, Gladys Nelson, Leona Bailey and Ethel Baker; three brothers, Harold, Frederick and Walter Snyder.
