Obituary for Mary E. Planthaber
MARY E. PLANTHABER, 89, of Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at the Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, IL. Mary was born May 31, 1916 in Thomson, IL to Charles W. and Margie (Martindale) Reynolds. She was educated in the Thomson grade and high schools. Mary married Carl J. Planthaber, Sr. on March 10, 1934 in Morrison. He died January 20, 1970. She was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 17 years. Following retirement, she worked for the former Carpenters Bakery in Morrison and had also worked as a tour guide for R.C. Smith Transportation in Morrison. She was a member of the Illinois Evangelistic Alliance, Inc. of Moline, IL and the G.E.M. Club of Morrison, IL. Survivors include three daughters, Barb (Mrs. Don) Skibbe, Sue (Mrs. Cal) Wing, and Carlene Chapman all of Morrison; one son, Carl J. (Wanda) Planthaber, Jr. of Camanche, IA; a son-in-law, Doran Everly of Rock Falls, IL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Planthaber, Sr.; one daughter, Mary Jane Everly; one grandson, Rodney Skibbe; two sisters, Florence Remrod and one as a youth; three brothers, Roy, Wesley, and William Reynolds.
