Obituary for Mary E. Foster
MARY E. FOSTER, 79, of Bluff Terrace Nursing Home in Clinton, IA and formerly of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the nursing home. Mary was born May 7, 1927 in Garden Plain, IL to William and Dena (Balk) Dykstra. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County schools. She married Edward L. Foster on April 8, 1948 in Fulton. He died April 9, 2003. Mary was a homemaker and had farmed with her late husband in the rural Ustick Township of Whiteside Co. and the rural York Township of Carroll County. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton and was involved with the Rebecca Society. Survivors include one daughter, Connie (Mrs. Gary) Geerts of Sterling, IL; two sons, Harlan (Karen) Foster and Steve (Deb) Foster, both of Albany, IL; nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Mrs. Jason) Folsom, Marc and Matthew Geerts, Cari (Mrs. Dan) Bush, Christy Foster, Amy (Mrs. George) Henkelman, Kristi Thompson, Jason (Jodi) Foster, Melissa (Mrs. Nate) Schroeder; two great grandchildren, Taylor and Bryce Folsom; one sister, Anna (Mrs. Howard) Wiersema of Thomson, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; one grandson, Michael Foster.
