Obituary for Mary Covell
MARY COVELL, 59, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday June 13, 2022 at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, officiated by Mr. Ken Renkes. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12th at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.
Mary was born November 11, 1962 in Morrison to Ronald E. and Patricia A. (Knox) Zuidema. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1980. On October 4, 1985 she married Clair “Opie” Covell in Morrison. Mary had worked at Sullivan’s Food in Morrison, and for the last 28 years she was employed with Timken Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL. Mary was an avid bowler and loved music, dancing, reading and crocheting. She especially enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband, Opie.
Survivors include her husband, Opie; one daughter, Rebecca (Justin) Temple of Sterling, IL; one son, Jarrod Covell of Fenton, IL; three grandchildren, Rylynn Temple, Jax Temple, and Blaze Covell; one brother, Vincent (Sheila) Zuidema of Morrison; her step-mother, Jean Zuidema of Clinton, IA; several brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Mark “Woody” Woodward.
