Obituary for Marjorie J. Hartman
MARJORIE J. HARTMAN, 88, of Eagle Point Nursing and Rehab Center, Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at the center. Marjorie was born September 11, 1921, to Charles and Katie (Zeeryp) Boelkens in Albany, IL. She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School. She married Raymond W. Hartman on July 25, 1945, in Fulton, IL. He died February 17, 1986. Marjorie was first employed during WWII at the Green River Ordnance Depot in Green River, IL. She then was employed at the former Schick Hospital in Clinton, IA. Most recently she was employed as a legal secretary and an Avon Representative. Marjorie was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, where she was active in the Hannah and Priscilla Circles, and the Christian Endeavor Group. She also had served as a Girl"s League leader and a Sunday school teacher. She was a volunteer with Mercy Auxiliary and the American Red Cross for over thirty years, and was also a Girl Scout Leader. Marjorie was an avid reader. Survivors include four daughters, Marla (Craig) Drury of Fulton, IL, Rita (David) Dragt of Willmar, MN, Sheila (Randy) Balk of Fulton, IL and Londa (Rev. Daniel) Wiersema of Cedar Rapids, IA; seven grandchildren, Todd Drury, Krista (Jason) Baker, Nicole Dragt, Angie (Niel) Willardson, Curtis (Tammy) Balk, Shara (Jake) DeBlaay, Lilly Wiersema; ten great grandchildren, Dylan and Makenzie Drury, Paige, Logan and Gavin Baker, Callie and Luke Pakkala, Ella and Cole Willardson, Samuel DeBlaay; two brothers, Gerald (Betty) Boelkens of Fulton, IL and LaVerne (Shirley) Boelkens of Arlington Heights, IL She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; one sister, Bessie Boelkens; two brothers, Curtis and Marvin Boelkens.
