Obituary for Marjorie Ewers
MARJORIE EWERS, 91, of Fort Worth, TX, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Trail Lake Nursing Home in Forth Worth. Marjorie was born January 19, 1920, in Milford, IL, to Rev. Earl and Flossie (Rosenberger) Hallock. She graduated from William Woods University in Fulton, MO, and Millikin University in Decatur, IL. She married Lawrence "Larry" Ewers on August 9, 1942, in Walnut, IL. He died May 25, 1995. She then married Robert Wright on April 19, 2002, in Fort Worth, TX. He died on February 8, 2006. Marjorie was the Whiteside County Home Extension Advisor and then taught Home Economics in the Keithsburg, IL, Lyndon, IL and Prophetstown, IL high schools. She also taught chemistry at Morrison High School during WWII. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Gary) Dycus of Fort Worth, TX and Phyllis Ewers of Emeryville, CA; three grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Dycus, Kimberly (Cody) Turner, Jeffrey Dycus; seven great grandchildren, Kylie, Zachary, Alec and Carson Turner, Kaden, Kiera-Jade and Jarrod Dycus; one sister-in-law, Shirley Hallock of Milford, IL; one niece, five nephews, one expected great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence and Robert; two brothers, John Hallock and one in infancy; one nephew, Rev. Terry J. Hallock.
