Obituary for Marion G. Johnson
MARION G. JOHNSON, 87, of Country Villa Glendale Nursing Center, Glendale, CA formerly of Prophetstown, IL, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the nursing center. Marion was born January 10, 1921 in Prophetstown, IL to Monroe E. and Nettie (Wildman) Thompson. She was educated in the Benton Street Grade School and graduated from Prophetstown High School. She married Richard Vance Randall. She later married Leroy W. Johnson on July 27, 1985 in Prophetstown, IL. He died July 5, 2001. She was employed as a credit secretary for the Bond Clothing Store in Los Angeles, CA for 11 years. Marion provided nursing care for both her parents until their deaths. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown, IL and served as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of Royal Neighbors. Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Eric) Jacobs of Burbank, CA; one son, Tom (Cindy) Randall of Ventura, CA; two stepsons, Bruce Johnson of Prophetstown, IL and Joel Johnson of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren, Jennifer Berg, Jeffrey (Ritsuko) Randall, Sara Randall, and Amy Randall; two step grandchildren, Noah and Sarah Jacobs; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Serena Berg; one sister, Rita (Allan) VanDeMark of Prophetstown, IL; one niece, Susan (Jim) Weeks and one nephew, Randy (Vanessa) Stralow. She was preceded in death by her husband; one stepdaughter in infancy; and one sister, Betty Stralow.
