Obituary for Marilyn J. Waite
MARILYN J. WAITE, 76, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Center. Marilyn was born October 23, 1935 in Erie, IL to Ross Harold and Lucille Mahala (Stage) Packer. She graduated from Erie High School in Erie, IL. Marilyn married Lyle A. Waite on November 7, 1953 in Prophetstown, IL. He died January 16, 2006. Marilyn, along with her late husband, Lyle, managed the Prophet Hills Country Club and also had owned Chuck"s Place both in Prophetstown. Marilyn and Charlotte Dumbauld ran the former Tot and Teens clothing store in Prophetstown for several years. She most recently worked for Drummet"s Hardware and Frary Lumber and Supply both in Prophetstown. Marilyn was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church and Prophet Hills Country Club. Survivors include three grandsons, Jeremiah (Bridget) Waite of Marietta, GA; Joshua Waite and Jonathan Waite both of Normal, IL; two great grandchildren, Ashlynn and Tyler Waite; two brothers, Doug (Diana) Packer and Harold Packer; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; one son, Alan; one sister, Barbara Dowell; and one brother, Donald Packer.View this obituary online at www.bosmagibson.com
