Obituary for Marilyn J. Freas
MARILYN J. FREAS, 81, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL. Marilyn was born October 6, 1932, in Fulton, IL, to Peter and Winifred (Bronkema) Hook. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools, the Robertson Grade School of rural Whiteside County and was a 1950 graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison, IL. Marilyn married Raymond J. Wolf in 1952, in Morrison, IL. He died in 1962. She then married Frank L. Freas on July 18, 1964, in Morrison, IL. Marilyn was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 32 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison and the church"s Mission Circle. She was also a member of the Albany American Legion Auxiliary and the General Electric GEM Club. Marilyn enjoyed quilting, flowers, bird watching, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Frank; three sons, Ken (Rita) Wolf of Morrison, IL; Rick (Cindy) Wolf of Erie, IL; and Dan (Diana) Wolf of Centralia, IL; eight grandchildren, Erin (Matt) Burkholder, Kelly (Donnie) Sorah, Dana (Emily) Wolf, Mike (Carolyne) Wolf, Matt (Samantha) Wolf, Ryan (Erica) Doetsch, Curtis (Melissa) Doetsch, and Jennifer (Matt) Phoenix; eight great-grandchildren, Brennan Sorah, Caleb and Jacob Burkholder, Nehemiah Wolf, Lane and Parker Phoenix, Audric and Iden Doetsch; one sister, Phyllis (Willard) Huizenga of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Raymond; one grandson, Aaron Wolf, one great-grandson, Ethan Wolf; three brothers, Bob Hook, Gerry Hook, and Don Hook.
