Obituary for Margery M. Naftzger
MARGERY M. NAFTZGER, 88, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL, formerly of Albany, IL, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at the nursing home. Margery was born May 24, 1921, in Colona, IL, to George and Margarite (Schriber) Fenno. She was educated in the rural Rock Island County grade schools and graduated from Cordova High School in Cordova, IL. She married Irving G. Naftzger on September 15, 1940 in Dubuque, IA. He died May 9, 2003. Margery was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking and her flowers. She was a member of Albany United Methodist Church in Albany, IL. She loved her Boston Terrier dogs, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Garretson of Albany, IL; one son, Paul (Karen) Naftzger of Albany, IL; four grandchildren, Angelique (David) Hickman, Joel (Tammie) Garretson, David (Jackie) Naftzger, Kimberly (Brad) Tegeler; seven great grandchildren, Garrett Hickman, Dakota and Brandi Garretson, Kyle Ernst and Katelyn Naftzger, Hunter and Peyton Tegeler; one brother, George Fenno of Davenport, IA; three sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving; one son, David Neil Naftzger; three sisters; three brothers.
