Obituary for Margaret Piersol
MARGARET "DOT" PIERSOL, 85, of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the nursing home. Margaret was born October 17, 1922 in Des Moines, IA to John and Victoria (Allen) Meany. She graduated from the Oskaloosa School System in Oskaloosa, IA. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Dot married George W. Piersol on July 10, 1949 in Oskaloosa, IA. He died July 5, 1998. She was a member of Morrison American Legion Post #328 Ladies Auxiliary, where she was past president. She was a devoted volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Drive in Morrison. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time at their cabin on the Mississippi River with family and friends. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Diane McKim of Windsor, CT and Vicky (Mrs. Ed) Murney of Morrison, IL; one son, John (Pam) Piersol of Albany, IL; four grandchildren, Krista McKim, Lisa (Mrs. Jason) King, Karen (Mrs. Bart) Arnold, Amy (Mrs. Josh) Chladek; seven great grandchildren, Parker Ann and Marisa Chladek, Haylee and Hunter King, Tucker, Grace, and Saige Arnold; and one sister, Mrs. Gloria Grams of Morrison, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, George and one sister, Mary Pittman.
