Obituary for Margaret "Peggy" Jane Terry
MARGARET “PEGGY” JANE TERRY, 91, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, IL.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany, IL, with Pastor Andrew Robinson, executive pastor at Wildwood Baptist Church in East Moline, IL, officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Peggy was born May 5, 1932, in Ackley, IA, to William and Laura (Yokum) Specht. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, IA. In 1950, she married Lyle Hill in Denver, CO, and they shared their lives for 30 years until Lyle’s passing on November 11, 1982. She later married John Terry on September 24, 1988, in Erie, IL. He died March 8, 2024. Peggy held various jobs, including employment at Hills Garage in Albany and Maurits and Jost Insurance Agency in Morrison. She also served as the township clerk for 31 years. She was a member of the Wildwood Baptist Church in East Moline. Peggy’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan E. Fisher of Sterling, IL; three sons, Robert (Tammy) Hill of Albany, IL, William Hill of Indianapolis, IN, and Lawrence (Susan) Hill of Noblesville, TN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Maze of Bettendorf, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lyle Hill; her second husband, John Terry; two sisters, Jean Stanley and Bernice Shager; two brothers, William D. Specht and Paul Specht.
