Obituary for Lynn A. Roman
LYNN A. ROMAN, 60 of Prophetstown, IL, died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at her home. Lynn was born March 17, 1955, in Davenport, IA, to Harold H. and Bernice M. (Claussen) Meyer. She was educated in the North Scott Grade Schools and attended North Scott High School. She was a 1973 graduate of West High School in Davenport. She married Thomas J. Roman on October 12, 1974 in Davenport. Lynn worked at several jobs as a receptionist and secretary, including Red Jacket Pump Company in Davenport, Penberthy in Prophetstown, and Dr. Bryan Dentistry in Prophetstown. For the past 19 years she worked at Farmers Mutual Insurance Company in Prophetstown. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Prophetstown, and the church"s Women"s Society. She was a member of Prophetstown Main Street Association and served on the organizational committee. Lynn was also a member of the Prophet Hills Country Club and enjoyed playing golf. She loved to go boating and traveling, and especially loved to go shopping with her friends and daughter. She enjoyed talking and listening to others and sharing with others about her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Tom; one daughter, Rachel Roman of Webster Groves, MO; one son, Nicholas (Audrey) Roman of Cordova, IL; three grandchildren, Carson, Ava and Emily Roman; four brothers, Duane (Bernice) Meyer of DeWitt, IA, Gene Meyer of Walcott, IA, Ron (Nancy) Meyer of Eldridge, IA and Jerry (Vicki) Meyer of Davenport, IA; one sister-in-law, Judy Meyer of LeClaire IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jim and Kenny Meyer.
