Obituary for Luella M. Popkin
LUELLA M. POPKIN, 82, of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the nursing home. Luella was born February 7, 1928 in Morrison, IL, to Thomas W. and Margaret J. (Habben) Gaffey. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County Grade Schools and was a 1946 graduate of Morrison High School. Luella married John L. Popkin, Jr. on July 28, 1951 in Morrison. He died April 12, 1989. Luella was employed by General Electric and was a member of St. Mary"s Catholic Church both in Morrison. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Popkin of Morrison; two sons, Gary Popkin of Adams, WI and William (Marie) Popkin of Morrison; five grandchildren, Brady Popkin, Trevor Popkin, Holly Popkin, Beau Popkin, and Michael Popkin; one sister, Marian (Victor) Winkelmann of Camanche, IA; and one brother, Everett (Lorraine) Gaffey of Rock Falls, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John.
