Obituary for Lucille Geerts
LUCILLE B. GEERTS, 85, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at the nursing home. Lucille was born June 2, 1924 in Morrison, IL, to William and Lucy (Temple) Boelkens. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. She married Paul G. Geerts on June 30, 1943 in Morrison. He died August 10, 2000. Lucille was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 21 years. She was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, a member of the church"s Willing Workers Society, and was active in the Coffee Break Ministry. Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Dennis) Vander Beek of Oskaloosa, IA; two granddaughters, Amy (Roy) Bailey and Kristy Vander Beek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; two sisters, Burdetta Buikema and Lena Senior.
