Obituary for Lucille E. Baker
LUCILLE E. BAKER, 76, of Freeport, IL formerly of Clinton, IA, died Friday, January 27, 2006, at Freeport Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. Lucille was born April 16, 1929 in Clinton, IA, to Elmer and Flora (Johnson) Vath. She was educated in the Clinton grade schools and graduated from Clinton High School. Lucille married Frank M. Baker on May 7, 1949 in Clinton, IA. She and her husband lived in Fulton, IL; Bellevue, IA; and Clinton, IA, before she moved to Freeport, IL. She was a homemaker and enjoyed doing craft work and making soaps. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Burch of Moline, IL; Gloria S. Baker of Freeport, IL; and Melanie (Mrs. Charles) Johnson of Mankato, MN; three sons, David (Shelley) Baker of Albany, IL; Rick (Kimberly) Baker of Mt. Horeb, WI; and Michael R. Baker of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, Michelle Burch, Monica Burch, Melissa (Mrs. Matthew) Breese, Joshua Burch, Bethany (Mrs. Derek) Mehrle, Ryan (Emily) Baker, Amanda, Benjamin, and Caroline Johnson; three great grandchildren, Calvin Burch, David and Samuel Mehrle; two brothers, Kenneth Vath of Clinton, IA and Dennis (Sheila) Vath of Duluth, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and one sister, Kathryn Bush.
