LUCILE B. COTTRELL, 89, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the nursing home. Lucile was born on December 5, 1919 in Bancroft, IA to George and Christine (Stebertz) Simmons. She attended the Bancroft Grade School and was a graduate of Bancroft High School in Bancroft, IA. She married Henry Cottrell in Story, WY. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1977. Lucile was employed with General Electric in Morrison, IL as an Executive Secretary. She was a member of St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Morrison, IL. Lucile was a member of the founding board of directors of the G.E. Credit Union. She was an Iowa High School girls" Basketball Champion and an avid golfer. She had a love for animals and she was known for her needle craft and paintings. She received several Blue Ribbons at the Whiteside County Fair. Survivors include one sister in law, Betty Simmons of Riverside, CA; two nieces, Cindy Simmons of Riverside, CA and Janet (Gary) Gasio of Ontario, CA; three great nephews, Kevin and Ryan Gasio and Jonathan Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; two brothers, John and Patrick Simmons.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE WHEN AND WHERE: 11 AM, Monday, December 15, 2008 at Grove Hill Cemetery " Morrison, IL OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Father William Antillon, Pastor of St. Mary"s Catholic Church " Morrison, ILVISITATION There will be no visitation.
