Obituary for LuAnn M. McDivitt
LUANN M. MCDIVITT, 56, of 307 W. Riverside Drive in Prophetstown, IL, died Friday, February 24, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family and loved ones.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home in Prophetstown. There will be no funeral service. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established.
LuAnn was born August 8, 1966, in Morrison, IL, to Burdette and Dea (Melton) Sandrock. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade Schools and was a 1984 Graduate of Prophetstown High School. After graduating, she attended Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL. LuAnn married Thomas S. McDivitt on May 26, 1989, in Clinton, IA. LuAnn was employed, throughout her entire sickness, by Cross Country Medical Staffing Network until February 2, 2023. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She was an avid animal lover especially of horses, which she trained and barrel raced. She was also particularly fond of llamas and anything Snoopy. LuAnn enjoyed traveling with her family to Gatlinburg, TN, and the Smokey Mountains. A memorial has been established.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy “Yored”; her parents, Burdette and Dea Sandrock of Prophetstown, IL; one daughter, Quincy Marie McDivitt of Prophetstown, IL; one son, Devin (Paige) McDivitt of Rock Falls, IL; six granddaughters, Genesis May McDivitt, Temperance King, Malachi King and Scarlett, Charley, and Bowie McDivitt; her special dogs, Lola and Butters; one sister, Gwen (Chawn) Hurd of Prophetstown, IL.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Glen Sandrock; two granddaughters, Emma and Prudence McDivitt; one nephew, Tony Silva.
