Obituary for Louise McDivitt
LOUISE MCDIVITT, 87, of Morrison, IL, formerly of Lyndon, IL died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at her home. Louise was born on January 27, 1922 in Covington, TN to George and Ollie (Gatlin) Ivey. She was educated in the Covington, TN grade schools. She married Everett B. McDivitt on December 9, 1945 in Pontontoc, MS. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1988. Louise worked at the Lyndon Sip and Bite in Lyndon, IL. She then worked at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, IL as a Head Dietitian and Cook retiring in 1982. After retiring Louise did home health care. Then, at 78 years old, she returned to work at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL for 2 years. She was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church in Lyndon, IL where she sang in the church choir for many years. Louise was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching golf. Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie (Chris) Schnaiter of Morrison, IL; five sons, Ron (Linda) McDivitt of Morrison, IL, Terry (Carolyn) McDivitt of South Beloit, IL, Michael (Linda) McDivitt of Morrison, IL, Patrick (Patty) McDivitt of Milan, IL, and Tom (LuAnn) McDivitt of Prophetstown, IL; fourteen grandchildren, Ron McDivitt, Judith (Brian) Olson, Tadd McDivitt, Tim McDivitt, Michael McDivitt Jr., Raechal (Moe) McDivitt, Cole McDivitt, Devin McDivitt, Quincy McDivitt, Christopher Schnaiter, Kevin Schnaiter, Amanda (Josh) Mack, Tina (Adam) Trancoso, Elizabeth McDivitt; and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Christy McDivitt; one granddaughter, Rebecca McDivitt; two sisters, Ruth Pittman and Francis Leatherwood; and four brothers, Farris Ivey, George "Red" Ivey, J.T. Ivey, and R.E. "Whitey" Ivey.
