Obituary for Lorraine Temple
LORRAINE TEMPLE, 84, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, May 27, 2023 at MercyOne in Clinton, IA.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM noon, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, with interim Pastor, Rev. Daniel Jongsma officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service, starting at 10:00 AM. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Speak Out Against Suicide – Camanche, IA and also the Alzheimer’s Association.
Lorraine was born December 15, 1938 in Morrison, IL to Burnie and Ellen (Oostenryk) Engelkens. She was a 1956 graduate of Morrison High School. On February 15, 1957 she married Mel Ammon in Morrison. He died December 20, 1993. On May 20, 1995 she then married Ron Temple in Fulton. He died October 17, 2014. Lorraine was a homemaker and a farm wife. She held a variety of outside jobs, but her primary role was MOM. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, and also was a long-time member of Emmanuel Church in Morrison. She held memberships at Erie Country Club and a local antique club, and was a volunteer with MercyOne Auxiliary and the Fulton Windmill. She was an avid TV-buff and enjoyed crocheting, Sudoku puzzles, shopping, golfing and baking chocolate chip cookies. Lorraine loved to travel, and she was fortunate enough to have experienced many adventures.
Survivors include three daughters, Cindy (Rich Pladna) Spooner; Melinda (Rick) Cadogan; Julie (Mike Arnold) Taylor; three step-sons, Randy (Lois) Temple, Terry (Denise) Temple and Marty (Danette) Temple; one daughter-in-law, Mary Temple; eighteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Temple.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Mel; her second husband, Ron; one son, Daniel Ammon; one step-son, Rick Temple; two sisters & their spouses, Alice (Raymond) Cordes and Ruth (Wesley) Leech; three brothers-in-law, Gerald Ammon, Bill Cain and Dalbert Temple.
