Obituary for Loretta J. Hook
LORETTA J. HOOK, 84, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at the center. Loretta was born July 13, 1927, in Morrison, IL, to Henry and Josie (Newendyke) Eizenga. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and attended Morrison High School. She married John L. Hook on August 24, 1945 in Morrison. He died June 18, 2006. Loretta was employed in food service by General Electric Cafeteria, the former Brick House and Goodenough Ice Box Restaurants, all in Morrison. Most recently she worked in the kitchen at the Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include three daughters, Sandy (Jim) Rosenow of Shorewood, IL Peggy (Jerry) Miller of Springfield, IL and Penny (Kent) Roman of Prophetstown, IL; one son, Dan (Connie) Hook of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren, Lisa (Rob) Kucik, Lindsay (Rodney) Reams, Jody (Scott) Shanle, Melissa (Jack Collins) Miller, Terry (Wendy) Roman, Shana (Joe) Meland; ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; one son in infancy, Terry John Hook; two sisters, Agnes Jansma and Phernie Tichler, one brother, Marvin Eizenga.
