Obituary for Lois J. Pilgrim
LOIS J. PILGRIM, 80, of Lyndon, IL, died Sunday, January 2, 2022 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation. A graveside service with close friends and family will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in the Lyndon Twp. Cemetery – Lyndon, IL.
Lois was born January 15, 1941 in Argo Fay, IL, to Melvin and Vernetta (Schwartz) Johnson. She was a 1959 graduate of Lyndon High School. Lois was a single mom with one child, Jerry Donald Pilgrim, who passed away at the age of 51, after spending 30 years in a nursing home in Rockford, IL. She worked for General Electric Co. in Morrison, IL for 30 years, until retiring. Lois and her son Jerry were lifelong members of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison. She was a member of the GEM Club. Her passion was anything to do with family archives from information that was handed down through her mother. She also enjoyed working at the Historical Society in Lyndon. Lois had a special friend and co-worker, Norma Haan, who gave her much support, along with her family.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth Johnson of Lyndon, IL and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry D. Pilgrim Jr., two sisters, Velma K. Buhlman and Frances Crossman.
