Obituary for Linda L. DeGroot
LINDA L. DEGROOT, 70, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Rich Davis, pastor of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Memorials to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association have been established.
Linda was born October 31, 1947 in Morrison to Dan and Dorothy (Van Kampen) Carroll. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. Linda was a licensed in-home daycare provider for more than 40 years, leaving an impression on many young hearts and minds. She enjoyed bowling and scrapbooking, and was an avid Hallmark collector. She loved to play Farmville on Facebook. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include three sisters, Donna (Glenn) Landherr of Morrison, Mrs. Janice Stage of Fulton, IL, and Mary (Larry) Eads of Morrison; one brother, Robert (Gloria) Carroll of Davis, IL; her step-mother, Katherine Carroll of Elizabeth, IL; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Daniel J. Carroll; one brother-in-law, Donald Stage Sr.
