Obituary for Linda E. Bryan
LINDA E. BRYAN, 77, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, May 14, 2023 at her home.
A private visitation and funeral service will be held. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Calvary Cemetery in Sterling, IL. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial to the Alzheimer’s Association has been established.
Linda was born June 28, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Fred and Margarete D. (Hammer) Merritt. She was educated in the Cedar Rapids schools and later graduated from Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL as an LPN. On April 14, 1984 she married James F. Bryan in Rock Falls, IL. Linda was employed by Myers Clinic in Sterling, IL, and then at Sullivan’s Food in Morrison, as a cashier. She enjoyed crafting, knitting and making afghans. She liked going to craft shows and loved riding motorcycles with her husband. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, James; five daughters, Laurie (Greg) Peterson of Mohammod, IL, Brandi and Becky Bryan, both of California, Kattie (Tyler Wilkens) Bryan of Morrison and Maggie Bryan of Sterling, IL; one son, Bud Sidwell of South Carolina; many grandchildren, including Mya, Daniel, Cassie (Michael) and Jacob; one sister, Marge Radecki of Fort Wayne, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one step brother, Dick Merritt.
