Obituary for Leta H. Poling
LETA H. POLING, 97, of Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, formerly of Mt. Sterling, IL, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at the nursing home. Leta was born December 22, 1908, in Lewis County, MO, to George and Minnie (Sears) Freeman. She was educated in the Lewis County schools and graduated from Quincy Senior High School in Quincy, IL. She married Everett F. Poling on October 6, 1928. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1987. Mrs. Poling was a librarian for the Mt. Sterling Public Library for several years. She was a resident of Mt. Sterling for 42 years, before coming to reside in Morrison. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Sterling. Survivors include two sons, Ted Poling of Springfield, IL and Ronald Poling of Morrison, IL; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister; three brothers.
