Obituary for Leona P. Borgman
LEONA P. BORGMAN, 82, of 811 " 1st Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton, IA. Leona was born November 18, 1925, in Clyde Township, IL, to Cornelius and Elizabeth (Dykhuizen) Schaver. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County Grade Schools. She married Paul J. Heun on December 30, 1941, in Newton Township, IL. He died on June 6, 1944. She then married Jean D. Borgman on October 3, 1947, in Fulton, IL. Leona was employed by General Electric in Morrison, IL and later at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton. Most recently she farmed with her husband, Jean, in the rural Garden Plain, IL area. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Clinton, and a former Sunday school teacher at Second Reformed Church in Fulton. She enjoyed the company and fellowship of her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Jean; two daughters, Nancy (Jake) Temple and Rhonda (Roger) Weis, both of Fulton; two sons, LaVerne (Kathy) Borgman and Richard (Betty) Borgman, both of Fulton; six grandchildren, Brenda Firch, Christopher Borgman, Daniel (Bridget) Mitchell, Joshua (Amy) Mitchell, Andrea (Kelly) Carder, Casey Borgman; eight step grandchildren, Christine (Michael) Herch, Barry Legel, Robby (Rachel) Weis, Sean Weis, Stacy (Chuck) Ferrey, Shawn (Sue) Picolotti, Lynette (Ed) Francke, Stacey (Brian) Sandholdt; five great grandchildren, eighteen step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Kevin Borgman; two sisters, Agne McCune, Jennetta Vogel; three brothers, Willard, George and James Schaver.
