Obituary for Leona M. Rebert
LEONA M. REBERT, 82, of 17079 Lomax Road, Prophetstown, IL, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL. Leona was born May 8, 1930, in Sterling, IL, to Paul and Clydia (Vittitow) Lane. She attended Prophetstown schools in Prophetstown, IL. Leona married Gerold E. Rebert on October 15, 1948, in Prophetstown, IL. He died October 2, 2007. She enjoyed spending most of her time as a homemaker and raising her children. She later worked for the Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown. Leona was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church in Prophetstown. She enjoyed music, played the accordion when she was younger, and was active in the church choir for several years. Other hobbies included flower gardening, spoiling her pets, writing letters, and traveling with her husband, Gerold. Above all, Leona enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Connie (Ron) Bruder of Rock Falls, IL and Corinne (Chuck) Abell of Rock Falls, IL; two sons, Rodney Rebert of Prophetstown, IL and Roland (Dorothy) Rebert of Poulsbo, WA; eight grandchildren, Chad (Lisa) Abell, Christopher (Christy) Abell, Cynthia (Todd) Slock, Troy Bruder, Tracy (Brandon) Garcia, Tammy (Jeff) Koehler, Shane (Anna) Rebert, and Jason (Sarah) Rebert; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Audrey Wright of Sterling, IL; several aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gerold.
