Obituary for Leamon D. Hill
LEAMON D. HILL, 88, of 306 Creek Lane, Prophetstown, IL, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown. Leamon was born December 5, 1923, in Prophetstown, IL to Aaron J. and Jessie A. (Dorothy) Hill. He was educated in the Benton Street Grade School of rural Whiteside County and was a 1942 graduate of Prophetstown, High School. He married Mary Nelle Satterfield on October 6, 1946 in Prophetstown. Leamon served in the U.S. Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He engaged in farming in the rural Prophetstown area until moving to Prophetstown in January of 1988. He was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church and the Prophetstown American Legion Post #522. Leamon enjoyed bowling, traveling and fellowship with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Mary Nelle; three daughters, Marilee Liter of Jacksonville, IL, Sue Galambos of Aledo, IL and Jane (Richard) Mumm of Long Grove, IA; six grandchildren, Carissa (Cory) Heine, Amy (Sean) Evans, Justin Galambos, Luke (Stephanie) Galambos, Adam (Andrea) Mumm, Mark Mumm; five great grandchildren, Maddie and Macy Heine, Cole, Natalie and Bella Evans. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jason and Scott Liter; two brothers, Myron and Donald Hill; one half sister, Murilla Anderson.View this obituary online at www.bosmarenkes.com
