Obituary for Laura Paul
LAURA R. PAUL, 87, of 18 Prairie Park Drive in Prophetstown, IL, died Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at her home.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown, IL. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Laura was born May 11, 1932, in Rockford, IA, to Thomas and Nell (Fowler) Tumilson. Laura was educated in the Rockford, IA, grade schools and was a graduate of Rockford High School. Laura married Richard M. Paul on March 28, 1951, in San Antonio, TX. She along with her husband Richard were missionaries in Florence, Italy, for 45 years. Laura was a devoted homemaker and mother to their six children.
Survivors include her husband, Dick; two daughters, Diana Paul of Florence, Italy, and Gloria (Frank) Quattrone of Springfield, VA; four sons, Jonathan (Susan) Paul of LeClaire, IA; Daniel (Holly) Paul of Prophetstown, IL; Timothy (Terrie) Paul of Hobart, WA; and Samuel (Lisa) Paul of Alexandria, VA; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; five sisters, Cora (Jim) Schroeder of Gilbert, AZ; Ann (Melvin) Reiter of Charles City, IA; Nell Tumilson of Charles City, IA; Lucky Kauffman of Virginia Beach, VA; and Mary Tumilson of Charles City, IA; and one brother, Don (Mary) Tumilson of Charles City, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Alessio Pampaloni; two sisters, Betty Schindele and Sena Gruver; five brothers, Sam, Tom, Dave, Robert, and George Tumilson.
