Obituary for Larry L. Geerts
LARRY L. GEERTS, 74, of Prairie Hills at Clinton, Clinton, IA formerly of Fulton, IL died Friday, February 24, 2012 at Prairie Hills at Clinton. Larry was born January 3, 1938 in Albany, IL to William and Helen (Kness) Geerts. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1955 graduate of York Community High School in Thomson, IL. Larry married Nancy L. Spencer on August 11, 1957 in Chadwick, IL. He was employed by the former E.I. DuPont Company in Clinton for 32 years retiring in 1999. Larry enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and his grand dog "Max". He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Lauri (Jerry) Biederman of Thomson, IL and Lisa (Paul) Mitchell of Geneseo, IL; one son, Greg (Sue) Geerts of Clinton, IA; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Kendra, and Scott Biederman, Damon and Derek Mitchell, Sarah (Tom) Schwarz, Erica (David Endersbe) Geerts and Nicole Geerts; six great grandchildren, Jasmine Wilson, Kesi-Ann Wagner, Ariah Endersbe, Keagan Fox, Maren and Cael Schwarz; and one sister, Janet Queckboerner of Chadwick, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
