Obituary for Larry J. Fransen
LARRY J. FRANSEN, 63, of 405 N. Orange Street, Morrison, IL, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center West, Davenport, IA. Larry was born August 5, 1942 in Sterling, IL, to William J. and Helen (Schol) Fransen. He was educated in the Galt grade school and graduated from Sterling High School. He attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN. He married Jane E. Brandt on August 31, 1968 in Morrison, IL. Larry was employed at General Electric in Morrison, IL, for 35 years, until retiring in 2000. Most recently, he was employed by United States Brass and Copper in Downers Grove, IL. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison and had served as an ordained elder. He was presently serving as Second Ward Alderman for the Morrson City Council. He was charter member and past president of the Morrison Kiwanis Club. He had served as president of the Morrison Junior Girls Softball League and founded the Morrison Girls Senior Softball League. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and attending sporting activities of his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Jane; three daughters, Julia Sotelo of Los Alamitos, CA; Janessa (Mrs. Mark) Renkes of Fulton, IL; and Laura (Mrs. Jeff) Arthur of Plainfield, IL; eight grandchildren, Ashley Sotelo, Tyler and Erik Renkes, Seth and Bailey Stillman, Avery, Campbell, and Besalu Arthur; his mother, Mrs. Helen Fransen of Sterling IL; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Robert Kuba of Sterling, IL. He was preceded in death by his father.
