Obituary for Kenneth "Red" Temple, Sr.
KENNETH “RED” TEMPLE, SR., 78, of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison, IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. James Camp officiating. A visitation will precede the service, starting at 9:30 a.m. A memorial has been established by the family.
Ken was born July 19, 1945 in Morrison, IL to Alvin J. “Red” and Hilda (Medema) Temple. He was a 1963 graduate of Fulton High School. On November 15, 1963 he married Joyce A. Reedy at First Reformed Church in Fulton. For a time, Ken worked for Drives in Fulton, and then for the City of Fulton. He then worked for Iowa American Water in Clinton, retiring in 2000. Ken enjoyed motorcycle riding and traveling on the bike. Many years ago, he and Joyce were members of a local motorcycle group. Ken’s passion was fishing – all seasons. He also liked watching NASCAR and going to local stockcar races. Ken loved spending time with his family and grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Laura (Dave Jones) Tichler of Fulton and Kim (Craig) Edwards of Clinton, IA; one son, Kenny (Kelly) Temple, Jr. of Fulton; five grandchildren, Joyce (Alex) Hall, Cassandra Tichler, Colin (Kennedy) Tichler, Emily Edwards, Brittany (Jay) Jackson; six great grandchildren, Rosemarin and Annelies Hall, Colin and Renley Tichler, Mason and Beau Jackson; two sisters, Gloria (Steven) Wiersema of Colorado Springs, CO, and Patricia (Joe) Valk of Dixon, IL; one aunt and one uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
