Obituary for Kendall James Russell
KENDALL JAMES RUSSELL, 67, of Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, IL died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the nursing home. Kendall was born on January 21, 1942 in Sterling, IL to Charles Thomas and Florence (Ackland) Huntley and then adopted by Bud and Halda Russell. He was a graduate of Manlius High School in Manlius, IL. He married Rita Emmert on February 14, 1963 in Rock Falls, IL. Kendall loved playing chess, cards, fishing and camping. He spent many hours in the Rockford Library reading. He got strength and comfort from his faith. Kendall also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to the American Diabetes Association. Survivors include his wife, Rita; nine daughters, Norma Jean (Ron) Brown of Gladstone, MO, Sharee Francene (Joe) Medina of Clinton, IA, Theresa Marie (Stan) Hart of Peoria, IL, Patricia June (Laurie Stark) Bear of Lexington, NE, Sally Jo (fianc" Jay Bachand) Russell of Worcester, MA, Gena (Norberto) Meyo of Clinton, IA, Tasha (David) Corbin of Clinton, IA, LaTrisha Emmert of Clinton, IA and LaTisha Emmert of Clinton, IA; four sons, Charles L. (Connie) Russell of Meeker, OK, Victor L. (Tina) Russell of Dodge City, KS, Chuck (Ash-Leigh) Drake of Dodge City, KS, and Gary (Jenny) Emmert of Clinton, IA; thirty-seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Cathy) Huntley of Martinsville, IN; one sister, Janet (Warren) Jones of Winnebago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jackie Lee Huntley; one sister, Jean Carol Mullanix.
