Obituary for Kathryn J. Damhoff
KATHRYN J. DAMHOFF, 95, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL; formerly of Fulton, IL, died Friday, December 18, 2015, at the home. Kathryn was born February 26, 1920, in Fulton, IL, to William J. and Reka (Pessman) Buikema. She was educated in the Fulton Grade School. On February 22, 1941 she married Bernard G. Damhoff in Clinton, IA. He died August 3, 2005. Kathryn farmed along with her late husband in the rural Garden Plain and Union Grove areas in Whiteside County. She was a charter member of the former Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, and participated in the Priscilla Circle. She was also a member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning. A memorial to Resthave Nursing Home has been established. Survivors include two daughters, Marcia (Dean) Brackemyer and Linda (Randy) Venema, both of Fulton; two sons, Arnie (Linda) Damhoff and Gerald (Sandy) Damhoff, both of Morrison; ten grandchildren, Lisa (Robert) Outzen, Renee (Jason) Kuehl, Shelly Foley, Brian (Dori) Venema, Nathan (Shannon) Venema, Brad (Kim) Venema, Katie (Curt) Buis, Scott Damhoff, Mike Damhoff, Ryan Damhoff; fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard and one sister, Jeanette Schaver.
