Obituary for Kathleen C. Koenes
KATHLEEN "KAY" C. KOENES, 82, of 17130 Diamond Road, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at her home. Kay was born July 22, 1924 in DeWitt, IA, to Frank and Loretta (Naughton) McDevitt. She attended Goose Lake, IA grade schools and graduated from Goose Lake High School. She married Alvin J. Koenes on February 15, 1947 in Davenport, IA. He died June 3, 1999. During WWII, she was a welder at Allied Steel in Clinton, IA. She later was employed at General Electric in Morrison, IL where she retired. She loved to do any arts and crafts projects. Survivors include one son, John (Joan) Koenes of Fulton, IL; three grandchildren, Jesse Koenes of Fulton; John Koenes, Jr. of Fulton; and Katie (Mrs. Jason) Johnson of Thomson, IL; two great grandchildren, Cassie and Jasmine Johnson; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Drummond of Davenport, IA and one brother, Cleo "Mac" (Tootie) McDevitt of Clinton, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; one son, James Koenes, five sisters, and one brother.
