Obituary for Karen S. Rose
KAREN S. ROSE, 59, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at her home in Morrison. Karen was born November 5, 1951, in Morrison, IL, to Eugene and Mary Katherine (Riley) Bonneur. She was educated in the Prairie Center Grade School in rural Whiteside County and graduated from Morrison High School in 1969. She also attended Sauk Valley College. Karen married David W. Rose on March 25, 1972 in Fulton, IL. She first worked at the former Smith Bank in Morrison. Later she worked for Climco Coils in Morrison, retiring from Altronic Coils. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison and was a board member of the Morrison Community Federal Credit Union. Karen was active in the 4H and showed cattle. In 1969 she was crowned as Dairy Princess for the Whiteside Dairy Association. She was an avid Holstein cow collector and was very good at sewing and embroidery, making items for friends and for babies. She enjoyed RV camping in the summer and reading to her children and then grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Dave; one daughter, Dawn (Jeremy) Roberts of Clinton, IA; one son, Pete (Hannah) Rose of Herrin, IL; five grandchildren, Aiden and Connor Roberts; Everett, Solomon, and Penelope Rose; her parents, Eugene and Mary K Bonneur of Morrison; two sisters, Diane Sexton and Janice (Scott) Webster; one brother, Brian (Cindy) Bonneur.
