Obituary for Karen M. Lane
KAREN M. LANE, 68, of 128 Riverview Drive, Albany, IL, died Friday, January 27, 2006, at her home. Karen was born May 21, 1937 in Clinton, IA, to Carl C. and Betty E. (Reick) Petersen. She was educated in the Clinton, IA grade schools and graduated from Erie High School in Erie, IL. She married James R. Lane on September 17, 1956 in Corinth, MS. She was employed by General Electric in Morrison, IL for 30 years, retiring in 1992. Karen was a member of Albany United Methodist Church, a Staff Parish Chair, member of the United Methodist Women, past member of Joy Circle, lay member of the annual conference, and had served on numerous other committees within the church. She also was a member of the Albany American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed traveling. Survivors include her husband, Jim; two daughters, Karla (Mrs. Terry) Hill of East Dubuque, IL and Jacquelyn (Mrs. David) Damhoff of Fulton, IL; one grandson, Ryan Damhoff. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard James Lane; a granddaughter, Katelyn Damhoff, and a brother, Richard Petersen.
