Obituary for Karen D. Hook
KAREN D. HOOK, 66, of Volo, IL, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at University of Chicago Medical Center, Chicago, IL. Karen was born January 7, 1945 in Bloomington, IL to Dr. James H. and Irene (LeFever) Moret. She graduated from Morrison High School in 1963 and attended the Rockford School of Business. Karen married David "Ted" Hook on November 27, 1964 in Morrison, IL. She worked for various temporary services as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed arts and crafts and traveling with her husband in their motor home. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Survivors include her husband, Ted of Volo, IL; her mother, Irene Dyke of Morrison, IL; two daughters, Christine Hook (Kurt Schumacher) of Round Lake Beach, IL and Angela (Daniel) Schubert of Lake Zurich, IL; two granddaughters, Allison and Jamie Schubert; two sisters, Sandy (Ron) Behrens of Sterling, IL and Dawn Zuidema of Morrison, IL; one brother, Norman Moret of Geneva, IL; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. James H. Moret; two stepfathers, Donald Dyke and Elmer Zuidema; and her in-laws, William and Dorothy Hook.
