Obituary for June Matuszewich
June Matuszewich, 85, of Lyndon, IL, died Sunday, November 29, 2020, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL.
A private family service will be held at Lyndon Township Cemetery in Lyndon, IL, with Timothy Matuszewich officiating. There will be no visitation. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is assisting the family. A memorial to Prophetstown Food Bank has been established.
June was born August 3, 1935, in Sterling, IL, to Ernest and Leatha Johnson. She was educated in the Lyndon grade schools and was a graduate of Lyndon High School. June married John “Jack” Matuszewich Jr. on September 28, 1958, in Knoxville, IL. He died November 11, 2003. The most important thing in June’s life was her family. She cared for Jack for many years while he was ill.
Survivors include two daughter, Val Tiesman of Ohio and Terri (Keith) Reynolds of Fulton, IL; two sons, Tim (Becky) Matuszewich of Ocala, FL and Dave (Michelle) Matuszewich of Lyndon, IL; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two brothers, Calvin Johnson of Bradenton, FL, and Dale (Janie) Johnson of Rock Falls, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; one son, Jerry Matuszewich; one sister, Francis Maynard; two brothers, Sonny and Kenneth Johnson.
