Obituary for June I. Larson
JUNE I. LARSON, 92, of 305 W. 2nd Street, Prophetstown, IL, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at Sterling Pavilion in Sterling, IL. June was born November 3, 1919 in Rock Falls, IL to Ralph and Irene (Jobst) Bollman. She was educated in the North Hume Grade School of rural Whiteside County and attended Rock Falls High School in Rock Falls, IL. June married Lester A. Larson on January 11, 1941 in Clinton, IA. He died August 29, 1969. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Association (W.E.L.C.A.) She was also a member of the West Hume Club and served as secretary of the Prophetstown-Lyndon Food Pantry. June was an avid gardener and belonged to a 20 member Pinochle Club. The things that June valued most in life were her family and church. Survivors include three daughters, Patricia (Larry) Stewart of Prophetstown, IL; Donna (Don) Drichel of Bloomington, IN; and Cheryl (Jerry) Thede of Prophetstown, IL; one son, John Larson of Prophetstown, IL; nine grandchildren, Rodney (Kim) Walker, Rhonda Reed, Brian (Sheri) Stewart, Shawn (Julie) Stewart, Tricia (Tom) Fuller, Scott (Leah) Drichel, Michelle Drichel, Rebecca (Mike) Leathers, and Aaron (Niki) Thede; nineteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Lory Wirth of Prophetstown, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; two sisters, Marge Mathis and Alda VanBerg; and one brother, William R. Bollman.
