Obituary for Julie A. Dopson
JULIE A. DOPSON, 55, of Albany, IL, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at her home. Julie was born December 17, 1959, in Clinton, IA, to Dale R. and Barbara J. (Waterman) Wessels. She was educated in the Unity Christian School and was a graduate of Fulton High School both in Fulton, IL. Julie married Scott A. Dopson on February 18, 1978, in Fulton, IL. She was employed by the Target Store in Clinton, IA, for 26 years and for Holesinger Law Offices for 7 years. Julie was a member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. She also served on the Unity Christian School Board and volunteered at Bargain Bonanza in Clinton, IA, using her experience in retail to facilitate store operations. Julie enjoyed traveling, visiting local wineries with friends, watching sunsets, collecting pieces of river glass, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Survivors include her husband, Scott; three daughters, Melissa (Joel) DeJong of Simpsonville, SC; Candice (Kenneth) Jager of Tinley Park, IL; and Kelsey (Anthony) Collier of Simpsonville, SC; seven grandchildren, Delaney and Joseph DeJong; Kenneth, Henry, Levi, and Juliana Jager; and Aiden Collier; her mother, Barbara Wessels of Fulton, IL; one sister, Jill (Jim) Balk of Garrison, IA; and one brother, Charlie (Nita) Wessels of Coral Springs, FL. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale and one niece, Stephanie Balk.
