Obituary for Judy Ann Becker
JUDY ANN BECKER, 76, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at Rock River Hospice Home in Sterling, IL.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, preceded by a memorial visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Kenneth Zuithoff of Sterling, IL, will officiate. Memorials have been established for the Rock River Hospice and Emmanuel Reformed Church.
Judy was born September 2, 1942, in Morrison to Roy and Evelyn (Green) Housenga. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. She furthered her education at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL, receiving an Associate’s Degree. Judy married Nick W. Becker on February 5, 1980, in Morrison. She worked as an assistant librarian at the Odell Library in Morrison, and later as a secretary at Super Wash in Morrison. She loved volunteering and helped out in elementary classes at the Morrison Grade Schools. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison and taught Sunday school there. In her free time she enjoyed reading. Judy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Nick W.; one daughter, Lisa (Monte) Gusse of Morrison; three sons, Craig Arians of Mt. Vernon, IA; Steve (Karen) Arians of Wilton, IA; and Nicholas E. (Stephanie) Becker of Morrison; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her mother, Evelyn Housenga of Morrison; one sister, Vicky (Bob) Workman of Morrison; and one brother, Don (Pat) Housenga of Terra Haute, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father.
